Competitor Analysis

Every business has a competitor, well unless it is a monopoly.. but 99.9% of the time a business will always have competitors. It is good business practice to measure your business against its competitors. In search engine optimisation we analyse our website competitors, we research what title and meta tags they are using, where their backlinks are coming from and what keywords they are focusing on.

Without this information we as SEO specialists will not be able to see where the gaps are in the market and what are the non-competitive yet highly targeted keywords which result in targeted traffic. Obviously if a website’s competitors are in the top 10 rankings and our client is not we have to do research into what their competitors are doing correctly. This is the beauty of web analytics, with the correct software and tools available we can study any competitor website and retrieve information to help our client achieve the same if not higher organic rankings.
